The Evolutionary Path
At the Association of Certified Commercial Diplomats, our greatest believe is that, it is the skills of commercial diplomats that enables government, states and businesses to succeed. We must get that focus right, because much of the progress on competitiveness will result from it.
With global partners we are changing the way the world delivers global trade policy, trade negotiations, development, and Commercial Diplomacy skills - changing the outputs of commercial diplomacy and training. A steady evolutionary path has been set which will transform the legacy centrally-planned, supplier-defined, and often inflexible "Commercial Diplomats skills supply-chain" into a demand-led system which meets the needs of the current economy and can respond rapidly to emerging needs in the future. Moving to a demand-led system where demand comes from employers and individuals, is beginning to change the thinking and actions of the public, and many private bodies, involved in the supply of trade and commercial diplomacy skills globally.
We so much believe that we will be successful and the world will see improvements in trade policy and negotiations, dispute settlement and commercial diplomacy, productivity, improvements in the way employers think about the use of commercial diplomacy skills, reductions in trade policy skills gaps and shortages, and improvements in commercial diplomacy supply. Movements in these high level indicators are in turn the key measure of our success.
Delivery on all this is a hugely challenging agenda for the Association.
